Hello hello! Isn’t this year just whizzzzzing by? It dawned on me the other day that we are almost half way through 2014 – say whaaaat?
For me it’s time to refocus on this years goals and anything I’d like to work on to achieve them before the year is over. One of my main goals being to create a calendar for 2015 full of watercolour drawings!
On Wednesday night we went to Rhys Darby… He is doing a comedy tour called Mr Adventure – pretty sure I got a 6 pack from laughing so hard. Anyway if you’re not sure who Rhys is there is a video link below – you may recognise him from Flight of the Concords as Murray!
Article: A series of images of the traditional life in the Siberian Arctic. I love this insight and the emotion portrayed in the beautiful pictures. It’s so far from my life here. Truly stunning.

Quote: ‘A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions’. – Ahhhh yes. This is perfect.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend planned. A few home DIYs and some thrifting is in order for me. Plus a trip to the market for fresh flowers & coffee dates :)
Another week filled with art, photography, work and walks on the beach with Frankie (whos going through a crazy chewing stage. At the moment the lounge is filled with ripped newspaper!).
Last night I went to the opening of a very exciting new venture happening in Nelson that I’m involved with – called the Little Beehive Co-Op. It includes a HUGE amount of creativity, artyness and a very cool space you’ll be able to visit if you’re in town…full post coming in the next few weeks!
Article: These photos are gorgeous – Portraits of India’s Holy Men. I love the colours & how real each portrait feels.

Quote: ‘You can mimic the result, but not the creativity’ – Sonya Teclai. Ha! Perfect for all the artists out there =)
Every year, I love to have a word or quote to live by. To make every decision with in my life.
It’s a little ritual I do around my birthday =)
For the past few days I have been thinking about my quarter century quote/motto and, after a long phone conversation with a friend, it came to me! That every decision in life can be ordinary or extraordinary – some better suited to each word. That there is always more than one path.
Do you have ay rituals on your birthday? I’d love to hear about them!
This week I decided to take a wee break from blogging to focus on producing more art…and its working! I have already started 3 new beautiful pieces. I’m excited to share them with you all.
Also this week, I started a 30-day self-portrait challenge that the girls at A Beautiful Mess came up with. It is a crazy weird feeling – taking selfies every day when I’m used to being behind the camera. Im really enjoying the challenge and will share all the photos with you at the end of the 30 days (also uploading some of them on Instagram).
Are you joining their challenge? I’d love to follow your pics!
Yipeee this week I finished and have all the framing underway for my Art Expo pieces. We are having beautiful weather in Nelson so Im soaking it all in while it lasts.
This month is the anniversary of my Etsy Shop being open a year. Check out yesterdays post for details on how to get FREE SHIPPING! Im so overwhelmed at the sales, support & opportunities my Etsy Shop has brought me so far. Thank you all for everything!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend planned,
