Good morning! WordPress has been a bit funny not letting me log in these past few days. But fiiinally I’m back on! Nelson – actually most of New Zealand – is experiencing the most crazy storm with lots of trees falling over – a chaotic wind!
In this weeks Friday post are few extra photos from my trip away to LA (if you missed it, you can read about it here). I love finding photos on my camera that I’d forgotten about!
Look at this beautiful photo below that mum took of Frankiiiiieeeeeee!
Article: This is the best. A child’s innocent face seen from above.
Video: This video is awesome. It shows how the father of this girl took a photo of her everyday for 14 years then made it into a vid- such a cool idea!

I hope you all have an amazing Easter weekend full of goodies. If you haven’t yet entered my art print giveaway – read about it here =)
The final part of my mini road trip was Christchurch city. I studied down in Christchurch before the earthquakes and hadnt been down here since. Although it was extremely sad to see so many of the beautiful old buildings gone, the spirit of everyone living in the city and the creativity emerging absolutely blew me away. There are amazing murals, graffiti walls, container shops.##
One place I loved visiting was the Cathedral – I remember walking past here years ago when my room mates and I would go shopping in the city. To view the Cathedral, you walk through a man made tunnel of flowers and cacti.
Brightly coloured art installations line the gates surrounding the Cathedral (see below).
The image above (on right) is of the new cardboard Cathedral designed by Japanese architect Shigeru Ban. You can read more about it here.
Above is an image of the container shops located in the city centre. This was a 2 story coffee shop with an outdoor area upstairs.
The other thing I loved was the book swap stops dotted around the city. These were recycled pieces of furniture filled with books – the idea is you leave a book and take a book. SUCH a cool idea.
I wish I had been in Christchurch longer, there is so much to explore and see! Until next time…
