Spring is coming Homestyle Mag + drawing

Snapshots from the past few weeks on Instagram – including me putting up my latest exhibition ‘OUTLINES’. Im always so nervous setting up an exhibition – making it look good & also having all my work on display. My exhibition is on until the 8th September – more info on it here.
Gossshhhhh I love Instagram – its probably the best addiction one could have…capturing amazing moments in life and being able to look back on them so easily.

We are slowly getting little signs of Spring…which means summer…which means not having to wear 3 pairs of socks and 3 merinos every day!
I hope youre all having a wonderful weekend – today I’m working on my 2015 Calendar. So excited to see the finished product! xobec

…Annnd I’m back!

Bec Brown + summer daisies

Well guys. Its been 2 months since I last posted on my beautiful little corner of the internet. Ive had mixed emotions about this blog and what to do next with it. By not focusing on my blog, I have created a huge amount of artwork and also had an adventure to America!
I have decided to use it more like a portfolio of my art, design & photography – instead of a blog that I update 3-4 times a week. This way I can focus hugely on my art.
I dont want to ‘get over’ posting on here and desert this fun world of blogging!
So here is a wee update of what I’ve been upto – snapshots from my iPhone…

Winter Beach NZ + Book USA Summer Fruit Clothing Tulips + Mustard candles Flower Shop + Home Decor Nelson Buildings + Blue sky Bec Brown - selfie

I’ll be sharing a few iPhone snapshots of my holiday to America soon, and also all the art Ive been creating.
If you’d like to keep up to date on a regular bases with my art, I am always adding new images to Instagram & Facebook.

Colourful sunset Bec - black & white

Hello hello! Isn’t this year just whizzzzzing by? It dawned on me the other day that we are almost half way through 2014 – say whaaaat?
For me it’s time to refocus on this years goals and anything I’d like to work on to achieve them before the year is over. One of my main goals being to create a calendar for 2015 full of watercolour drawings!
On Wednesday night we went to Rhys Darby… He is doing a comedy tour called Mr Adventure – pretty sure I got a 6 pack from laughing so hard. Anyway if you’re not sure who Rhys is there is a video link below – you may recognise him from Flight of the Concords as Murray!

Rhys Darby in New Zealand

This weeks…
Article: A series of images of the traditional life in the Siberian Arctic. I love this insight and the emotion portrayed in the beautiful pictures. It’s so far from my life here. Truly stunning.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend planned. A few home DIYs and some thrifting is in order for me. Plus a trip to the market for fresh flowers & coffee dates :) xobec

This Easter was all about getting off the beaten track and exploring some stunning spots in the South Island of New Zealand. Above are a few photos from the adventures! It was a terrible stormy weekend but when the sun peaks through as it disappeared behind the clouds, it gave a beautiful glow to the landscape. Those moments are what I love.
These photos were taken between the West Coast & Christchurch and also at Lake Coleridge.
Enjoy!

Friday

Street art, Venice Beach Tangled vine, Forest Palm Springs streets

Good morning! WordPress has been a bit funny not letting me log in these past few days. But fiiinally I’m back on! Nelson – actually most of New Zealand – is experiencing the most crazy storm with lots of trees falling over – a chaotic wind!
In this weeks Friday post are few extra photos from my trip away to LA (if you missed it, you can read about it here). I love finding photos on my camera that I’d forgotten about!
Look at this beautiful photo below that mum took of Frankiiiiieeeeeee!

Frankie, puppy

This weeks…
Article: This is the best. A child’s innocent face seen from above.
Video: This video is awesome. It shows how the father of this girl took a photo of her everyday for 14 years then made it into a vid- such a cool idea!
