This geometric lily is up on the shop today and available as an 8×10′ print.
Tomorrow I will be sharing my adventures in Christchurch from this past weekend – where we checked out the Ellerslie Flower Show. Happy March to you!
For my bedroom I wanted to create a piece of art work in the same style as I usually do but LARGE! I wanted the piece to be simple, balanced & tie in with the colours in my room.
I stretched my own canvas on to an old window frame and sat in front of the piece until ideas started to form. As they formed, I put them on the canvas. This is what I created!
At first I didnt like it (as with most of my pieces) it has grown on me and now I loooove it. It makes my room feel so much bigger and waaaay more interesting. What I loved most about creating this was that I let anything happen. The image above displays part of the painting that has a cool story in how it was created – as I was drawing the geometric patterns a little bug landed where the paper plane shape now sits. A light bulb went off – the little bug should have a place on here! His wing shape was like a paper plane.
At some point I would like to screen print my own duvet cover & apply the same geometric patterns to it.
So my bedroom is almost complete! I also FINALLY found an old ladder to use as my bookshelf – yipeeeee!
Hope you all had an amazing weekend and cutesy Valentines Day xx
I’m not sure why or where this art journal page came from but last weekend I woke up wanting to draw faces. So I now have 3 Art Journal pages of weird abstract faces to share with you over the next few weeks. I still haven’t decided if I like them… Or what I will do with all these pages! What do you think of this weird and wacky style?
