Twenty 14

New Zealand Landscape

It’s time to think about new goals, dreams & wishes for 2014! I’m excited for this year with so many things I want to achieve.
Each year I choose a word to live my year by. Last year was ‘bravery’ – so each decision I made was based on this word. I achieved a lot with it. So this year I’ve decided on the word ‘adventure’. I want a year full of fun, laughter, exploring and adventures with friends and family.
What are a few of your goals this year? Anything you’d love to achieve?
Here are a few of mine…
♦ Have another exhibition
♦ Design 5 fabric patterns
♦ Attend 2 market stalls
♦ Collaborate with local artists on fun creative projects
♦ Road trip the North Island of New Zealand
♦ Visit America
♦ Take a roll of film photos each season & print them

A new look

Bec Brown - summer fields

Its happening. A fresh new look for 2014 on Clouds of Colour blog.
I have had the same header on this blog since starting it 2 years ago – its been amazing but part of blogging is it changing as you do. So I’m excited to be stripping back the overall layout and look of Clouds of Colour. With more black & white, space, easier navigation and a bigger focus on the content of art & photography.

Its so cool how a change like this can make me even more excited about creating new content.
If you have a spare moment, I’d love to hear your thoughts on a few questions:
♦ What are your favourite posts on Clouds of Colour?
♦ What would you like to see more of?
– Art, DIY’s, Photography, New Zealand, Etsy & Blogging tips
♦ Do you like seeing the inspiration behind artwork?

Thank you so much beautiful readers!

Just a moment…

Purple Flowers 1 Purple Flowers 2 Purple Flowers 3 Purple Flowers 4

Taking just a moment to appreciate these pretty purple shots from last weekend – I love the dark background against the purple, in the first 3 shots of this series.
Eeee I am far too excited to share my weekend away at Blogcademy and exploring Auckland! Remember you can follow my instagram for updates – @cloudsofcolour Have you been to Auckland and have any favourite spots? I’m dying to explore! So far I’ve been to The Fed which is a New York styled diner. I had a delicious pumpkin salad and bottomless coffee. The waitresses dresses were the cutest retro style in mint green! So many hidden treasures in this stunning city.
Leave me a comment if you have somewhere I must visit! Food places? Hidden boutiques? Art and craft stores? Architectural wonders?
Have a happy weekend friends!

Isel Park is in full bloom at the moment with bluebells covering the ground, poppies, monarch butterflies, rhododendrons + sooo much more. The house is over 160 years old. If you live in Nelson, or are visiting, make sure you check it out… and have a game of frisbee golf while you’re taking in the beauty of spring! xobec
