Good morning annnnd Happy Valentines Day! I hope you have all had a wonderful week and that today is full of beautiful and loving surprises. This weekend Im sharing a large painting I have done for my bedroom – so excited about it!
Since moving into our new home, I have had a brain full of sooo many ideas. This one was inspired by the floral lettering I have available on my Etsy Shop and after browsing Pinterest – I came across this idea! So here is my version using the same technique..
I used cardboard paper mache lettering from the craft store which I then cut the top of so it was hollow. Next, I cut, fitted and glued pieces of floral foam – this made fastening the fake flowers soooo easy. Remember to cut a hole in the back of each letter so you can fasten them to the wall.
I also found these black plastic birds to surround my pretty floral letters.
This is the first piece of artyness to go up in the new house. I looooove it! And thought it was a perfect DIY for Valentines Day.
Do you have anything special planned for Valentines Day this year? Any favourite DIY’s?
This new art print is available on the shop this morning.
Inspired by this photo I snapped last Spring – poppiesssss!
This weekend is all about unpacking boxes, finding places for all our stuff and trying to get some sort of routine into our new home. I already have soooo many DIY ideas! I am working on one at the moment which is perfect for a wee Valentines Day gift =) Have a lovely weekend friends!
Good morning friends!
I have been working on this commision piece this week – a green bicycle + green doors. The idea/mood behind it was the feeling of having just been to the morning market to collect beautiful flowers (and eat a quick croissant & coffee!). I love the blue doors that the bike is leaning on (that was a last minute addition) – I think it really adds to the overall mood.
This artwork is available as an 8×10″ fine art print on Clouds of Colour Shop.
Have a lovely day!
Its happening. A fresh new look for 2014 on Clouds of Colour blog.
I have had the same header on this blog since starting it 2 years ago – its been amazing but part of blogging is it changing as you do. So I’m excited to be stripping back the overall layout and look of Clouds of Colour. With more black & white, space, easier navigation and a bigger focus on the content of art & photography.
Its so cool how a change like this can make me even more excited about creating new content.
