A wee update of the current art I’ve been working on this winter. I love being snuggled up when its raining outside – so much creativity pours out of me. I have been working a lot with black ink – adding scratchy edges and washes. I love the feel & mood of it!
I hope you’re all happy & well. Winter has defo started to arrive in Nelson. Fareeeeezing nights & beautiful sunny days.
This week I worked on a cute wee range of gift tags, available in a pack of 8 on the Clouds of Colour Shop.
Work has been sooo exciting this week as the container of American Vintage arrived into the store – you can read here and here for my adventure to LA where my boss & I raced around collecting beautiful furniture for the store here in Nelson.
Article: This series of absolutely incredible images blew my creative mind. THE COLOURS!! Make sure you read what each image is – so fascinating.
Video: ‘A wide-angle view of fragile earth’ – again more beautiful pics plus a great talk from Yann Arthus-Bertrand on humanity and our habitat.
Quote: ‘Life is too short & unpredictable not to live it exactly as you please.’
A few golden hour images taken last weekend. I was reading about the ‘golden hour’ and it said that more blue light is scattered at these times of the day, so if the sun is present, its light appears more reddish. There is less contrast so shadows and over exposure are minimal. It definitely is my favourite time to head out with my camera. I looove how this dried grass looks – those colours are beautiful!
When is your favourite time to take photos?
This past weekend Mum and I took a trip down to the Ellerslie Flower Show in Christchurch. It was better than I imagined it to be! A nice sunny Christchurch day, live music and a perfect creative vibe in the air. Here are a few snaps from our day there.
One of my friends received gold for the Mexican inspired design above – soooo clever huh! I love the use of colours, reflective patterns & texture in the plants.
If you get the chance to go next year – I highly recommend it!
Have you been to Ellerslie?
Some beautiful lilies for this beautiful sunny Thursday. I looove arum lilies and their soft white shapes.
The weather is cooling down at nights here now – I don’t want winter to arrive just yet! But I do look forward to the snowy mountains, winter scarves and jackets. Time to start preparing!
Have a wonderful day, friends
