My art mojo is back!

Processed with VSCOcam

I don’t know what it has been but for the past 6 weeks I have had a complete art block. I haven’t even been able to pick up a paintbrush! I’m blaming the fact that it’s summer and all I want to be doing is lying the sun, walking on the beach, berry picking and eating ice-creams. Lots of ice-creams.
But….FINALLY (and I wouldn’t usually push myself to do art) I did push myself. I sat up in bed with The Mentalist on and said go Bec go. And this is what I produced – black and white birds and floating feathers.
I am soooo pleased to have my art mojo back!
I’m now working on a series of black and white collections like this one. Sometimes it’s good to push yourself and sometimes its not. In this case – it was! Yay!
How do you get your creativity back if you ever have a block?xobec

  1. Wow good on you! I loooove Melbourne but when I was living in Sydney a few years ago, I really missed NZ so came back here and spent 6months full time on my blog & art – sooo amazing. Good luck with your art! :) x

  2. Thanks! I’ve been drawing since high school but have only started selling limited edition prints for the last couple of years, since moving to Melbourne really. I only just launched my website/blog so want to start getting more involved wherever I can! Thanks for the feedback lovely x

  3. Wooowww!! Your work is INCREDIBLE! So much detail – they must take you forever to complete. How long have you been painting for?

  4. I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes its good to do something completely different as well :) Your blog is very cool! Absolutely stunning photography

  5. I know that feeling! I find that I tend to look at the work of other creatives for inspiration but sometimes it just leaves me doubting my own ability. I think it is definitely a case of forcing yourself to do something instead of waiting for it to happen. :)

  6. Ohh 6 months – good on you breaking it! Do you have a site where I can view your work? Id love to see what you create :) x

  7. Can absolutely relate Bec! You had a block of 6 weeks? Mine was about 6 months! In the end I ‘forced’ myself to start drawing again too, thankfully once I started I was back in the zone!! Good luck in keeping the creative juices flowing x

  8. Welcome back …. *smile – don’t know many artists – but the few I do know .. they have creative blocks a couple of times per year. Bring it on!!!!
