A few weeks ago I shared a few photos I had edited using the App VSCO. I had a lovely reader let me know about another photo editing App which she loves called Snapseed. I tested it out with the above photos and love it! It feels like the ultimate App for making your photos look vintage and aged. There are so many options and filters to choose from and adapt. Loveeee it! Being a huge film camera fan this kind of feels like cheating but at the same time it feels like such a different effect and vibe created. Snapping beautiful images with an old vintage film camera will never get old for me. There’s so much that goes into capturing a stunning image.

Some exciting news! This year I am going on a short holiday to… Japan! I have a wonderful friend living there whom I haven’t seen for years (and miss like crazzzy) so I am heading over to hang out with her and explore. I cannot wait to eat, take photos, relax and absorb myself in the culture.

A few beautiful landscape snapshots from our short weekend away. Sometimes, you can get so lost in everyday life that you forget to look at the bigger picture or, the amazing country you live in. New Zealand’s nature and landscape scenery always blows me away. These shots were taken a few hours away from Nelson. I have more photos to share with you over the next few weeks so keep an eye out.

A few months ago, Paula from The Seamstress NZ approached me asking if I would like to do a design for one of the stunning hoodies she makes. I was way too over excited then, and now after seeing the end result (and wearing it!!) I can hardly contain myself. I’m in awe of how ultra amazing and talented she is. She uses old vintage fabrics to line the hoodies and during these cool winter days, its the perfect snuggly accessory.

Today’s Art Journal page was a bit of a creative outburst mixed with a bit of frustration that it wasnt turning out how I envisioned. Sometimes I push myself to be creative. And sometimes I’m just not feeling it. At those times, I’ve learnt its better to do something else like bake a cake or go for a walk. These Art Journal pages have been good for breaking down barriers of perfection and its nice to have it all on record.
What do you do to stay creative?

This is one of the paintings I have been working on for the Art Exo. It is a massive A2 size! I have a sore arm already from drawing! I can imagine this up in a very large fun kitchen. What do you think?

I’m not sure if I can classify this as an art journal page…maybe its more of a pretty painting with a photo on it. Whatever it is, this week I went ultra simple with the design and boy do I love it. I may need to do a design for the shop! What do you think?

Yellow much this week? Its Autumn and beautiful here.
This week I discovered (and am now addicted to) Indian Ink. Combining it with my drawings as well as using an ink pen and water colours is new and exciting. I can feel a new look coming. Have you tried? Do you have any tips for me?
