Twenty 14

New Zealand Landscape

It’s time to think about new goals, dreams & wishes for 2014! I’m excited for this year with so many things I want to achieve.
Each year I choose a word to live my year by. Last year was ‘bravery’ – so each decision I made was based on this word. I achieved a lot with it. So this year I’ve decided on the word ‘adventure’. I want a year full of fun, laughter, exploring and adventures with friends and family.
What are a few of your goals this year? Anything you’d love to achieve?
Here are a few of mine…
♦ Have another exhibition
♦ Design 5 fabric patterns
♦ Attend 2 market stalls
♦ Collaborate with local artists on fun creative projects
♦ Road trip the North Island of New Zealand
♦ Visit America
♦ Take a roll of film photos each season & print them

This week I’ve been back at work – no more Christmas holiday bliss! Its been really good to get back in to a routine. And hopefully soon, I’ll be able to get back into the swing of things with my art too!
My current exhibition ‘of wildflowers and wings’ is still showing at The Old Post Office store in The Moutere – more details are here.

My weeks faves…
Video: Eeee! This time lapse of LA is so beautiful
Article: A tour of Iris Apfel’s Manhattan apartment. This woman has always blown my mind with her incredibly exciting style. I have always loved the way she dresses and after seeing her home in this article, I’m even more in awe.

This week I’ve also been thinking hard about goals for 2014 – a vision board is on the cards for this weekend. What are your plans? I hope it’s nice and warm wherever you are =) xobec

A new look

Bec Brown - summer fields

Its happening. A fresh new look for 2014 on Clouds of Colour blog.
I have had the same header on this blog since starting it 2 years ago – its been amazing but part of blogging is it changing as you do. So I’m excited to be stripping back the overall layout and look of Clouds of Colour. With more black & white, space, easier navigation and a bigger focus on the content of art & photography.

Its so cool how a change like this can make me even more excited about creating new content.
If you have a spare moment, I’d love to hear your thoughts on a few questions:
♦ What are your favourite posts on Clouds of Colour?
♦ What would you like to see more of?
– Art, DIY’s, Photography, New Zealand, Etsy & Blogging tips
♦ Do you like seeing the inspiration behind artwork?

Thank you so much beautiful readers!

Article: This is too too clever. I love it when people make use of someones else rubbish and turn it into beautiful art. This sculpture is made from over 4000 plastic bags.

I’m on holiday for a few weeks so am making the most of the absolutely amazing summer we are having. My first adventure was a kayak to Haulashore island – photos above were taken on my iPhone.
