Golden Chair Revamp

Thrifted wire chair - before & after Thrifted wire chair - before

I found this very cool chair at the recycle centre last weekend and knew I just had to have it – for $2, how could I resist?
I have wanted to spray paint a chair gold for aaages now so after washing and sanding it down a bit, this chair came alive! I absolutely love how the rusty part turned out, like gold leaf peeling off. I sealed the gold with a clear satin varnish.

I now need to find the perfect sized cushion for my old/new gold chair! For now, its a bit of a feature in the lounge.
What colour cushion would you add to it? I cannot decide! xobec

DIY: Hand stamped cushions

Today the very talented Alana from The Little Leaf blog and I are teaming together on a home DIY- cushion revamping! We wanted to use bought cushions and revamp them for our homes. I loooved making my recent Clouds of Colour stamp so made some more smaller stamps for this project too. These are so easy to make and a great idea for cheap prezzies.
I used an old piece of eraser and using a sharp craft knife, cut out my design. Make sure you have a stamp pad that will stay on fabric. The cushions I chose already had a pattern so I used these as a guideline for getting my rows of stars and hearts. I love mixing texture and pattern in your living room and these add a nice fresh burst! Make sure you head over to Alana’s blog for her sweet cushion idea! xo Bec

Revamp: Little set of drawers

As you all know, Im a huge fan of home DIYs so carrying on with my current series, I wanted to start one that shows off any revamps I do on existing furniture like the upholstered chair I did a few weeks ago.  I absolutely love giving old furniture a new look! Kicking off the series is this little set of drawers I repainted. Below is the ‘before’ picture.

First I sanded it down and wiped it with a clean cloth. I painted the frame of the drawers in a bright white and drawers in the colours you can see below. I luuuurved the name of the red- tall poppy! I ended up doing 3 layers of paint on the whole piece. I left it to dry overnight.

These colours to me feel very French meets a sailor boy :D haha. Im slowly building up my collection of housey things for when Arlo and I get a home and Im able to decorate. How exciting! xo Bec
