Own Your Success

‘What do you do for a living?’
‘I’m an ummm urrr yeah… I AM AN ARTIST.’
FINALLY, after years of creating art, I feel like I am at the point where I actually feel brave enough to make the statement of being a full time artist.
The more I sell, the more I feel success, the more I hear amazing kind words from customers – the more I can finally own those words.

Art Prints 2017 1 So much about ‘success’ is drummed in to us by teachers, family members & media. What it takes to be successful and what you have to do to get there. What I’m finally realising as I delve deeper in to my purpose, is that I own my success. I drive it, control it and determine what is really is.
In my current lifestyle, my success is measured in producing beautiful artworks and how much I love them, hearing amazing feedback from buyers, reading books, getting the kids to bed before 8pm, eating well, being aware of my mind & listening to my intuition.

If you were to write a list of what it take for YOU to be successful, what would your list say?
By owning your success list, you can instantly feel a sense of achievement. You can do it! And since you’re not waiting for someone else’s approval, the journey to success will be enjoyable, fulfilling and fun!

Now is the time to write your success list. Make notes of everything you feel a sense of achievement in when you complete them. As you’re writing, be aware of how your higher self feels. If you feel light, it is right. If you feel darkness, its not (wishing there was a good word to rhyme with darkness, let me know if you think of one!).

If you do end up writing a success list, I’d love to hear some of them. Leave a message in the comments below!

Melrose Artworks

img_3928

YAY! 2 of my beautiful artworks on exhibition at Melrose House Cafe in Nelson, SOLD. I have now created these 3 gorgeous new pieces. Inspiration came easily for these works – the large green orb with folk inspired birds is my personal fave as I am in LOVE with lush green, pink & mustard.
Pink Floral Cluster – whenever I created a floral piece like this, it really is just a process of letting my creativity flow. I dont plan the structure of it, or what flowers Ill use. I focus on the balance of colours. I love not knowing what the outcome will be!
Tui – The kids and I were at our family bach and Tui kept swooping by us and landing on a nearby fig tree. I love the organic wonky leaf shapes of a fig so this idea for an artwork was handed to me, I simply had to notice it.

If you’re in Nelson, Melrose House is a must-visit spot. A perfect floral setting for a coffee!

Rainy Sunday

Sunday we explored. Overcast, raindrops & drizzly.
Hey bloggers…Its been forever since I did a personal post on here – or even posted much at all. I’ve considered getting back in to blogging and on some days, closing this site completely. But I love what is on here too much – and I’d feel sad completely leaving!
A lot has changed since I was last really on here. So I’m starting fresh! I want it to be more open & treated as a diary – rather than just a place to share art & crafts (with nothing much about me).
So for starters…my lovely readers…let me introduce you to Nick. He’s a brilliant photographer, dad (2 sweet little boys that I get to be the ‘cool mumma’ around) and is super hipster, creative, clever…the list really does go on. You can check out his photography here.
He’s the major reason I’m back on here blogging. On Sunday we explored and I finally felt the urge to get behind my camera again. I LOVE black & white images so much…so maybe that is what it will mainly be about.

We’ve been through a heck of a lot together since we met… There are things I want to share in time.
But for now…heres us!
