Arthurs Pass has to have been my most favourite drive of all. The most stunning New Zealand landscapes – sweeping mountains, blue flowers hug the sides of the roads that lead down into stunning valleys. I could have stayed here for my whole holiday!

There is a train called the TranzAlpine which runs from Greymouth to Christchurch, passing through Arthurs pass. The shot above is of the railways which has blue lupins along it. One of my goals this year is to take this train ride through winter when the mountain tops are coated in fresh white snow.
An absolute MUST when visiting New Zealand is to spend time going through here.
The BEST. xobec

  1. There should have been lupins further south – did you see them? Can’t wait to see more of your NZ photos!

  2. Ohhhh so cool you’ve done it poppytump. A shame about the weather though. I cannot wait to do it in winter!

  3. Beautiful photos … some stunning scenery – it could be Scotland … but this is how I remember NZ.
Really like the photo with you looking at the stunning scenery. Those blue flowers we have too, but I don’t know the name.

  4. It looks stunning with all those lupin flowers Bec !
We actually took the tranzalpine train when we visited NZ a few years ago … amazing … but a great shame it was one of the greyest of days to take the trip … rather like a UK drizzly day :-/ … but with stunning scenery from the carriage looking down on icy glacial coloured waters .. I wouldn’t have missed it for the world !

  5. So beautiful!! New Zealand has always been the #1 place I have wanted to visit for years. You are so lucky to live in such a place of beauty, Bec!
